Members of Madasigon Fisherfolks Association from Barangay Poblacion have completed their training on fish and seaweed processing this afternoon, May 24, 2023.
The 3 days training equipped participants with the necessary skills on fish and seaweed processing like fish ball, fish crackers, fish embutido, fish lumpia, fish chicharon, seaweed smoothie, seaweed salvaro, and seaweed puto.
Mayor Sun Shimura, who graced the culminating activity held at TESDA Compound, vowed to help the association market their products. Mayor Shimura said that the LGU will sought partnership with CTU Daanbantayan for the food packaging and will allocate a stall space to the association near the food park where where they can display and sell their products at the upcoming town fiesta.
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) 7 through the Fisheries Post-Harvest and Marketing Division, in collaboration with LGU Daanbantayan through the Municipal Agriculture Office, conducted the said training.
