Mayor Sun Shimura and Vice Mayor Elver Ali Abucay presided over the Joint Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) and Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) meeting on February 24, 2025, at the Municipal Function Room.
The meeting featured presentations from several line agencies, including the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (Male and Female Dormitories), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) as wells as the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, Municipal Health Office, Traffic Management Office, and the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office. These agencies reported their accomplishments for the 4th quarter of CY 2024.
Key agenda items included updates on peace and order, RPOC Resolution No. 7 Series of 2024 regarding the enforcement of the POGO ban, the approved POPS budget for CY 2025, and a DILG memorandum urging LGUs to address public nuisance and noise pollution. Discussions also covered the procurement of a PNP vehicle and the re-launching of the SPACE Program.
Additionally, Mayor Shimura and Vice Mayor Abucay handed over 4 units of 9 mm revolver with bulletproof helmets and vests to the PNP and Philippine Coast Guard.
Among those in attendance were ABC President Mark Anthony Luche, MLGOO Grace Caburnay, representatives of line agencies, and department heads.
