The Municipality of Daanbantayan received a total amount of P15.8 million financial assistance from the Cebu Provincial Government during the Caravan of Provincial Government Services for the 4th district mainland LGUs held Friday, February 7, 2025 in the Municipality of San Remigio.
The financial grant was for the infrastructure projects of the mayor, vice mayor, municipal councilors, and three barangays. Of the amount, the office of the mayor received P8.6 million; the vice mayor and municipal council offices got P3 million and P3.3 million respectively; while barangays Agujo, Malingin, and Tapilon each received P300,000.
Gov. Gwen Garcia, together with Board Member Kerrie Keane Shimura, handed the checks over to Mayor Sun Shimura, Vice Mayor Elver Ali Abucay, SB Member JupJup Rosell, SB Member Wendell Rosell, SB Member Rex Novabos, Malingin Barangay Captain Jay Bontia, and ABC Pres. Mark Anthony Luche.
Aside from the financial grant, various free services including dental, medical and veterinary care were provided to the constituents of the 4th district. In addition, beneficiaries received assistive devices, assorted seedlings, fingerlings, slippers, vitamins, Sugbo insurance, and food packs, among others.
