Mayor Sun Shimura spearheaded the awarding ceremony for the SUGBusog Program Season 5 winners on Tuesday, January 28, 2024 at the Municipal Function Hall.
Facilitated by the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) headed by Municipal Agriculturist Henry Rondina, the program recognized the hard work and innovative efforts of participants who have made significant strides in promoting food security and combating malnutrition in their communities.
The program honored individuals, groups, and schools that stood out in transforming their spaces into thriving gardens, demonstrating collective vision, strategic planning, and consistent monitoring. Winners are as follows:

The SUGBusog (Sugbuanong Busog, Luwas ug Himsog) Programโa brainchild of Governor Gwendolyn Garcia has become a transformative movement across Cebu. What started as a call for urban gardening has blossomed into a platform for sustainable living, community empowerment, and life-changing opportunities.
Gracing the ceremony were District 1 Supervisor Dr. Eva Casinillo, District 2 Supervisor Dr. Necifora Rosales, BFP, school heads and other stakeholders.
