The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region VII in coordination with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office holds the 1st food redemption day for the beneficiaries of Walang Gutom 2027: Food Stamp Program (FSP) on Tuesday, September 24.
The 190 beneficiaries, who passed the validation conducted by DSWD, redeemed their P3,000 worth of food items through the Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards. In particular, the food credits were allocated in three (3) food groups: P1,500 for carbohydrates (50%); P900 for protein (30%); and P600 for fiber-rich food (20%).
The FSP is a flagship program of the Marcos administration that aims to reduce the prevalence of involuntary hunger by enhancing both the availability and accessibility of nutritious food for low-income households.
