Mayor Sun Shimura graced the launching of Project SIKOP (Students Illiteracy Knock-out Program), an academic initiative that aims to address illiteracy by reducing absenteeism and preventing drop-outs among students.
In his message, Mayor Shimura emphasized the importance of parental involvement in relation to the performance of their kids in school. He urged parents to take good care of their children at home and show support in their kids’ academic endeavors as it plays a crucial role in boosting self-esteem and self-worth.
Project SIKOP is an initiative of Daanbantayan National High School Principal, Dr. Archie Gallego, with full support from the LGU and active participation of parents, residents and community stakeholders. 4/20/2024
