The Municipality of Daanbantayan led by Mayor Sun Shimura warmly welcomed an estimated 600 tourists and guests at Kandaya Resort for the Suroy Suroy Sugbo Northern Escapade 2024 last night, January 23.
In this year’s event, Daanbantayan has bounced back showcasing the best of its creative minds, homegrown talents, and local foods.
LED tunnel and floor panels that display underwater corals and swimming thresher sharks were mounted at select areas, wine wall that serves drinks to the guests was installed at the entrance; and there was this ‘gigantic’ girl in ball gown playing the violin.
Young performers showcased their talent in dancing and belting out of Visayan songs; and sumptuous dinner that included a variety of dishes, lechon, seafoods, and delicacies were served.
It was an evening to remember for all the tourists and guests who joined in the celebration as Daanbantayan has shown innate warmth, generosity, and the best that it can offer.
