Governor Gwendolyn Garcia together with Mayor Sun Shimura, Vice Mayor Elver Ali Abucay, Board Member Kerrie Keane Shimura, and Municipal Councilors led the ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the 5-day Agri-Fishery Trade Fair.
The trade fair is situated at the newly constructed municipal covered court, which was likewise blessed yesterday, August 21 during the Opening Salvo of the Annual Town Fiesta this coming August 29-30, 2023.
The public officials then proceeded to the newly renovated Lamberto R. Te Cultural Center for a short program and Boodle Fight where the 20 barangays showcased their best foods and delicacies.
Barangay Maya was declared grand winner as the barangay with the Best Boodle Fight set-up, while Barangay Poblacion and Barangay Talisay placed 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Cash prizes of 10k, 7k, and 5k for the top 3 winners were doubled by Gov. Garcia making the prize money to P20,000 1st place; P14,000 2nd place; and P10,000 3rd place.
