The executive and legislative branches of
LGU Daanbantayan led by Mayor Sun Shimura and Vice Mayor Elver Ali Abucay, together with concerned department heads and Sangguniang Bayan members, attended the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Pre-Assessment conference on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Municipal Function Hall.
DILG Cluster Head LGOO VII Lelanie V. Lopez and MLGOO Grace Caburnay conducted the pre-assessment to gauge the LGU’s readiness for the 2023 SGLG assessment.
This year’s assessment will cover ten governance areas, namely financial administration and sustainability; disaster preparedness; social protection and sensitivity; health compliance and responsiveness; sustainable education; business-friendliness and competitiveness; safety, peace and order; environmental management; tourism, heritage development, culture and arts; and youth development.
SGLG is a progressive assessment system that gives distinction to remarkable performance of LGU by putting emphasis on integrity and good performance as pillars of meaningful local autonomy and development.
