Some 400 municipal employees and job order personnel were subjected to a surprise drug testing on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
Mayor Sun Shimura, Vice Mayor Ali Abucay, and Sangguniang Bayan Members also volunteered to undergo a drug test held at Lamberto R. Te Cultural Center.
Initiated by Mayor Shimura in coordination with MADAC and DILG-MLGOO, the surprise drug test is part of the LGU’s relentless campaign against illegal drugs and to ensure a drug-free workplace.
In addition, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 mandates officers and employees of public offices to undergo random testing to ensure that government agencies remain drug-free.
