Carnaza Eco Park, a beach resort located at the tropical island paradise of Carnaza, Daanbantayan was the venue of the 2nd Regional Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) held August 6-8, 2019.
In the culmination of the 3-day activity, representative from each of the 4 provinces under Region 7 presented their output and project ideas before a distinguished panel composed of DILG Provincial Director Jerome Gonzales, DSWD 7 Officer Emma Patalinjug, DepEd 7 Regional Director Salustiano Jimenez, National Youth Commission (NYC) Commissioner Laurence Anthony D. Diestro, and AFP CentCom Commander Lt. Gen. Noel S. Clement.
Spearheaded by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the YLS is an annual activity that encourages the youth to take an active role in the peace and development programs of the country. This year’s gathering was participated in by Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials, Local Youth Development Officers (LYDO), Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP), non-government organizations, youth leaders and volunteers from the 4 provinces of Region 7 led by Jonah Loretero of Bohol, Judy-Ann M. Nulla of Cebu, Tristan Gold Torrillo of Negros Oriental, and Brylle Deeiah D. Tumarong of Siquijor.
Gracing the event was SB Member Wendell Rosell together with the Municipal Public Information Office, MDRRMO, and Brgy. Carnaza officials headed by Brgy. Captain Roquita Rosell, and Councilors Rego Camino and Jurabel Armina. 9/8/19
