The Most Rev. Euginius Canete, M.J, D.D., the first bishop from Daanbantayan, was greeted with a warm and heartfelt welcome as he arrived in a grand motorcade, this morning, February 18, 2025.
Later in the afternoon, Bishop Cañete presided over the blessing of the Jubilee Garden and Pilgrims’ Door, a meaningful moment of dedication and hope. Afterwards, Bishop Cañete officiated the Thanksgiving Mass at the Archdiocesan Shrine of Santa Rosa de Lima, offering prayers of gratitude and invoking blessings for the congregation and the entire community.
In his homily, Bishop Cañete conveyed that a true relationship with God is built upon faithfulness. He emphasized that “Good relationships come to those who are faithful to each other,” underscoring the importance of mutual loyalty and trust with one another.
With the esteemed presence of Mayor Sun Shimura and the dedicated efforts of the Parish Pastoral Council, the occasion was celebrated with profound reverence and joy. This significant event represents a meaningful milestone in the Church’s history, strengthening its commitment to faith and service.
