SB Member Jupiter Roy Rosell, SB Member Marvi Loot Pinos, and Bakhawan Barangay Captain Bernardito “Intoy” Luche led the inauguration and turn-over ceremony for the 43 units of solar streetlights installed along the national road from Sitio Kalubihan to Sitio San Vicente in Barangay Bakhawan, on Thursday, November 7, 2024.
This sub-project was awarded to RJS Prime Construction after winning the bidding process and was funded by the DSWD through the KALAHI CIDDS program amounting to β±2,406,792.16, with additional contributions from the municipal and barangay LGUs as well as the community, totaling β±23,207.84.
This solar streetlight project is part of a broader government initiative aimed at enhancing public safety and providing a reliable source of light during power outages. The lights not only ensure greater security for residents but also improve the overall safety of the area by reducing the risks of accidents and criminal activities, especially during nighttime.
In attendance during the turn-over ceremony were Barangay Bakhawan officials, KALAHI staff, volunteers, and community members.
