With energy and excitement in the air, Daanbantayan officially launched the December League 2024 on November 30 at the Lamberto R. Te Cultural Center. The opening ceremony, led by Mayor Sun Shimura, marks the start of a month-long showcase of sportsmanship, unity, and community pride.
The celebration began with a spectacular parade that lit up the streets of Barangay Poblacion. Teams from the inter-school, inter-agency, and Shine 40 categories proudly marched through the processional road, their vibrant colors and high spirits electrifying the cheering crowd.
The cauldron lighting, a symbol of unity and sportsmanship, was brought to life by the exceptional Basketball 3×3 CVIRAA players, with the UC Webmaster player Wade Adam Luche leading the charge.
One of the most exciting highlights of the day was the presentation of the 11 dazzling musesβeach radiating grace and confidence as they proudly represented their teams.
Capturing the spotlight was Cherlindrea Taneo of Dover Academic Center of Excellence, who was crowned Ms. December League 2024, sparking a wave of cheers and exhilarating energy that filled the crowd. The excitement was further heightened by the standout runners-up: Frabraile Orbeta of Daanbantayan NHS claimed the 1st runner-up spot, followed by Princess Rosebell Parilla of Calape NHS as 2nd runner-up. Chrisma NiΓ±a Compuesto of Bakhawan NHS claimed the 3rd runner-up, and Marmae Balingan of Tapilon NHS rounded out the winners as 4th runner-up.
The ceremony was attended by prominent local officials, including Mayor Sun Shimura, SB Member Marvi Loot-Pinos, ABC President Mark Anthony Luche, Board Member Kerrie Keane Shimura, Municipal Councilor of Madridejos Icky Salazar, SKF President Crystal Jo Rodrigo, Municipal Consultant Vicente Loot, and barangay captains.
As the December League 2024 officially kicks off, the municipality looks forward to weeks of thrilling competitions, celebrations, and meaningful connections among its residents.
