Daanbantayan received two prestigious awards during the 2024 Bansiwag Awards for LGUs held on December 17 at the Marco Polo Plaza, Cebu City.
The municipality was recognized by the DILG for achieving HIGH PERFORMING POC in the CY 2023 Peace and Order Council (POC) Performance Audit; and for achieving HIGH FUNCTIONALITY in the 2024 Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Audit.
Vice Mayor Elver Ali Abucay had the honor of formally receiving the awards, on behalf of Mayor Sun Shimura. Vice Mayor Abucay was accompanied by MLGOO Grace Caburnay, MADAC Focal Grace Navarro, and PMAJ Mark Anthony Villanueva.
