The Municipality of Daanbantayan headed by Mayor Sun Shimura, Vice Mayor Elver Ali Abucay, Board Member Kerrie Keane Shimura, and the Sangguniang Bayan Members, warmly welcomed Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, esteemed guests, and participants of the Suroy-Suroy Sugbo: Northern Escapade 2025 on Thursday night of January 23, at the Golden Sands Destination Resorts.
Governor Garcia led the more than 600 visitors as the event was filled with vibrant energy and festive spirit. The jovial atmosphere was heightened by the cheers, colorful dances, and warm smiles that greeted tourists as they arrived at the venue.
Daanbantayan once again showcased its undeniable charm, proudly displaying its rich culture, exquisite arts, and treasured traditions. Guests were treated to an array of unique cuisines and delicacies that highlighted the culinary heritage of Daanbantayan.
Dance performances by the Haladaya Festival champion, Tribu Kasikas, and the Cebu Technological University (CTU) Hugyaw Dance Troupe, as well as Cebuano songs performed by local singers, captivated the audience and showcased the innate talents of Kandayan-ons.
