The Regional Assessment Team composed of key personnel from the DILG and the Civil Society Organization today, June 11, 2024 conducted documents review and on-site visit to determine LGU compliance with the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) indicators.
Led by LGOO VII Engr. Liza Fernandez together with LGOO ll Junnel Sarda and CSO Representative Ricardo Varquez, the regional assessment team covered 10 governance areas for evaluation, namely financial administration and sustainability; disaster preparedness; social protection and sensitivity; health compliance and responsiveness; sustainable education; business-friendliness and competitiveness; safety, peace and order; environmental management; tourism, heritage development, culture and arts; and youth development.
This year, Daanbantayan aims to replicate its feat in 2023 when the municipality was bestowed with the SGLG award, the highest and most prestigious recognition given by the DILG to LGUs that exhibited excellent governance and delivery of public service.
SGLG is a progressive assessment system that gives distinction to remarkable performance of the LGU by putting emphasis on integrity and good performance as pillars of meaningful local autonomy and development.
Present during the whole-day activity were Mayor Sun Shimura, MLGOO Grace Caburnay, department heads, PNP, DepEd and with support from the Sangguniang Bayan led by Vice Mayor Elver Ali Abucay along with SB Member Maria Bregidorietta Tancawan.
