The Municipality of Daanbantayan has been awarded the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) 2023, the highest recognition and the most prestigious award given by the DILG to LGUs that exhibit excellent governance and delivery of public service.
In full force during the awarding ceremony held on December 14 at the Manila Hotel were LGU officials from the executive and legislative branches led by Mayor Sun Shimura and Vice Mayor Elver Ali Abucay together with MLGOO Grace Caburnay, Board Member Kerrie Keane Shimura, Sangguniang Bayan members, and department heads.
Daanbantayan has satisfactorily complied and passed the 10 governance areas that serve basis for the award, namely Good Financial Administration and Sustainability; Social Protection and Sensitivity; Disaster Preparedness; Safety, Pace and Order; Business Friendliness and Competitiveness; Environmental Management; Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and Arts; Sustainable Education; Health Compliance and Responsiveness; and Youth Development.
The municipality will receive the SGLG incentive fund worth P1.8 million for winning the coveted award.
