Candidates for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) participated in the Unity Walk, Interfaith Prayer, and Peace Covenant Signing in support for a Secure, Accurate, Free, and Fair Elections (SAFE) 2023 today, September 28.
The event kicked off early morning with a Unity Walk from the Sunset Baywalk to the Lamberto R. Te Cultural Center. It was then followed by an interfaith offering from leaders of various religious denominations.
Afterwards, all the candidates pledged their commitment for a peaceful election by signing a peace covenant together with the religious leaders and head of national line agencies, namely COMELEC, DILG, PNP, AFP, DepEd, Coast Guard, and BFP.
Mayor Sun Shimura graced the event and delivered his message where he emphasized the importance of unity among local officials in bringing progress and development to the community.
The BSKE is slated on October 30, 2023.
