Today’s launching of the Special Protection Against Child Trafficking and Exploitation or SPACE Program was further strengthened by the signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Daanbantayan Municipal Police Station, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) and Malapascua Business Association (MBA).
Held at Malapascua Legend Resort in Barangay Logon, the MOA establishes partnership and cooperation between the parties in the implementation of SPACE Program and fight against all forms of criminality but not limited to Child Trafficking and Exploitation.
In the agreement, Daanbantayan PNP shall deploy police personnel in Malapascua Island to provide security of the tourist and the community and to maintain peace and order of the island.
On the other hand, the MSWDO and MBA will cooperate, and provide support and timely information to PNP Daanbantayan on their programs for the welfare of the community.
The MOA signing and launching of the SPACE Program was fully supported by Mayor Sun J. Shimura, Police Provincial Director of Cebu Province, PCOL Rommel J. Ochave and KASIMBAYANAN Faith-based volunteer, Pastor Danilo Baquer.
