The Municipality of Daanbantayan has once again proven its athletic supremacy by emerging as the 2nd Placer overall out of 44 participating LGUs in the recently concluded Cebu Provincial Sports and Cultural Meet 2026.
Daanbantayan ranked first in the Elementary Division, garnering 24 gold, 14 silver, and 9 bronze medals. It also placed second in the Secondary Division, amassing 37 gold, 21 silver, and 19 bronze medalsโfor a grand total of 61 gold, 35 silver, and 28 bronze medals.
The recognition was formally received by District 1 Supervisor Eva Casinillo and District 2 Supervisor Tony Aplacador during the awarding ceremony held on February 20, 2026, at the San Fernando Sports Complex.
