Community-based Treatment Program and Launching of Community Support Aftercare and Reintegration Program

A total of 253 community-based treatment (CBT) completers were given certificates of recognition during the “2nd Completion of Community-based Treatment Program and Launching of Community Support Aftercare and Reintegration Program” ceremony held today, August 8, 2019 at Lamberto R. Te Cultural Center. The completers were former drug surrenderers who have successfully completed the rehab program under DOH’s Matrix Intensive Outpatient Program (MIOP) where they underwent 4 months or equivalent to 16 sessions of counseling that involved psycho-social and spiritual; passed 3 random drug tests; and actively participated in alternative activities, such as zumba, basketball, tree-planting, and clean-up drive.

The completers who hail from different barangays were presented by Dr. Merle Visda of the Municipal Health Office and confirmed by Operations Management Officer Gretchen G. Castro of Department of Health. The whole-day activity was attended by Mayor Sun J. Shimura, MADAC Focal Coun. Ali Abucay and Grace Navarro, Daanbantayan Police Station Chief PMAJ William C. Homoc, ABC Pres. Mark Anthony Luche, Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) Pres. Ricardo Varquez, Barangay Captains, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Agents Aika Urciada and JM Catipay, who are in-charge of drug clearing and on site validation to the barangays.

Meanwhile, the afternoon session is the launching of community support aftercare and reintegration program which will be attended by the 253 CBT completers as well as the first batch of 198 CBT completers who were also conferred certificates of recognition last December 12, 2018 after completion of their community-based treatment program.
